Ken Snyder is a multiple award-winning artist of diverse skill and talent. His current chosen medium is watercolor, but as a master of various techniques, he has been know to move deftly between pastel, ink, collage and oil.

Ken’s primary studio is in Windham, New York, a small town in the Catskill mountains where he spent a few decades doing large oil paintings. His early obsession with old barns and rural landscapes of the region gained his pieces revered places on the walls of tasteful homes across the state. Admirers snatch up his best work as fast as he can paint and almost all of his original oil paintings have been sold.

Ken lives in Windham half the year with devoted wife, Joan Snyder, an innovative, award-winning potter and sculptress. Ken also worked for many years as a professional sign maker, beginning with hand lettering and the delicate practice of gold leaf. A hand-painted sign at the end of the couple’s driveway on Mitchell Hollow Road in Windham attracts the lucky passerby in to their lovely home studio.

Ken and Joan also have a residence near Sarasota, Florida, an art capitol where they regularly win blue and red ribbons at regional shows. In this age of Photoshop and other forms of creative digital assistance, Ken draws and paints freehand and rarely looks at a computer. In order to instate a web presence for her parents and still leave them time and space to focus on enjoyment of their lives and work, daughter Kimberly has co-created this website as a legacy for the artists.
